Roman Hrynewycz, 91, of Zion, IL passed away at his home one December 10, 2021. He was born on December 16, 1929 in Ukraine the son of Andrew and Kathirina (nee Danylyk) Hrynewycz.
Roman started life as a son of a peasant farmer in Ukraine. After World War 2, his family was able to immigrate to the United States of America. While in Chicago , he found the love of his life, Stefania Sorokopas and they were married in 1957. They had six children together. Roman and his family moved out of Chicago , so he could have a small farm and be closer to family members. He enjoyed gardening , and coin collecting. Roman attended Our Lady of Humility, and worked at various jobs and factories. His highest positions he earned were a Shop Foreman , quality control or machine maintenance.
Romans is survived by his children; Roman Hrynewycz Jr. , Teresa O’Neill , Stanley Hrynewycz, Anna Hrynewycz, Tim Hrynewycz, grandchildren; Adam Hrynewycz, Amanda Kranz, Taryn O’Neill, Brendan O’Neill , great-grandchildren; Eric , Emily, Ethan, Andrew, Grace, and Jacob.
Roman was preceded in death by his wife Stefania Hrynewycz, October 31, 2008, daughter; Rose Hrynewycz, brother; Iwan Hrynewycz, and his parents.
