Virginia Rae “Ginny” Flood, 83, of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2021. Ginny was born January 5, 1938 in Zion, IL to Dorothy and Theodore Stewart. She graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School with the class of 1956.
Ginny married Roy Alexis Flood on October 3, 1959 in Waukegan, IL and together they raised two sons. She was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion where she sang in the choir and was the primary vocalist on the album, “I’ll Tell the World”. In addition to singing, Ginny enjoyed reading and archiving family photos into collages. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren, baking, crafting and playing piano with them. She will be missed greatly and always remembered for her love of family and her sharing of humor and hard candy.
Ginny is survived by her sons, Nelson (Kathy) Flood; and Norman (Renee) Flood; grandchildren, Rick Leonowitz, Jim (Heather) Leonowitz, Erin Flood, and Kyle (Tamara) Flood; great grandchildren, Maddee, Declan, Tegan, Lilly, and Tristan; and a sister-in-law; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Lynn Stewart.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion.
