Franklin John Pizzala, 80, of Beach Park, died on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at Pavilion of Waukegan.
He was born February 25, 1926 in Fayette, Michigan, and lived in Waukegan most of his life. He was a member of Trinity United Lutheran Church of Waukegan. He was a member of Local 20, Bricklayers and Stone Masons Union, retiring from Pickus Construction in 1989. He was also a member of the Waukegan Moose.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Doris; his children through marriage, Dawn (Hector) Gonzalez of Beach Park and Shireen Kempf of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; five grandchildren Charles II, Dawn, Steven, Brandy and Russell III; four great-grandchildren Evan, Joseph, Cheyenne and Steven Jr.; and three sisters Marion (Dale) Heidenriech of Escanaba, Michigan Dorothy (Jim) Williams of Fairfield, California and Elaine Boles of Mt. Clemens, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by four brothers Eugene Pizzala , Joe Pizzala, Harold Pizzala and Henry Pizzala; two sisters Helen St. Louis and Lorraine Martin; and his parents Bernard and Mollie Pizzala.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006, at 5:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at the Funeral Home.
