Susan (Frawley) Haluzak

Susan Haluzak, nee Frawley, 71, of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 9, 2022. Susan was born November 15, 1950, the daughter of Garnet and Myrtle (nee Bates) Frawley. Susan was a graduate of Waukegan High School. She retired from Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC) after working for over twenty years; she then settled in Squaw Lake, MI with her late husband John Haluzak. Susan returned to Lake County shortly after his passing to be closer to family. Susan was a member of St. Dismas Catholic Church and Our Lady of Humility in Beach Park. In her spare time she would volunteer at the Sharing Center in Salem, WI. Susan had a love for the outdoors, taking walks in the woods, fishing, boating and sharing stories around a bonfire. When she wasn't outdoors she was spending time with her family and friends playing Yahtzee, baking and cuddling with her beloved dog Freedom. Susan leaves behind her children, Melissa (Ronald) Ellis, Christina (Brandon) Jester; grandchildren, Ronald Ellis Jr, Adam O'Connor, Maxwell Ellis, Hailey Jester, Jenna Jester, Julia Jester, Zachery Ellis; siblings, Patricia (Dennis) Miller, Martin Frawley, Lisa Watson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best friend Beverly Hom Case-Bratzke. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Haluzak; grandchildren, Nicholas Harmeyer-O'Rear, Emily Ellis; parents, Garnet and Myrtle Frawley; siblings, Donald Frawley, Regina Frawley; and nephew, Jake Watson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Our Lady of Humility Catholic church, 10655 W Wadsworth Rd, Beach Park, IL 60099. From 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
