Obituary of Michael Patrick Allen

Michael "Mike" Patrick Allen, 52, of Zion, Illinois, passed away on February 11, 2022, due to complications of COVID-19. Mike was born on August 25, 1969 to Edward Allen and Martha Jean Allen, in El Paso, TX. After Michael graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1988, he worked for Ducts Unlimited for a better part of two decades. Mike was an avid cook and was always looking for a reason to fire up the grill. He loved cars, hot and spicy food but nothing compared to his love for Da Bears! You could never go wrong with giving him any all all things related to his beloved Chicago Bears. If you ever had a problem, he would proclaim 'I know a guy!' He approached life with humor and a funny stories. He would go to great lengths to make you smile. Above all else, he loved his children more than he could express, proudly sharing their accolades every chance he could get. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Jean Allen. He is survived by his three children, Mariah (Josh) Burch, Deven (Maria) Allen, and Brayden Allen; his father, Edward Allen Sr.; siblings, Edward Allen Jr. (Laurie Breslin), Charles Allen, Paula (Billy) Crutcher, and Sharon (Darrin) McGee; and friends of the family, Jerry and Gail Waddle. Visitation will be held on February 26, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Congdon Funeral Home, with funeral services following immediately thereafter. Burial service will be held privately.
