Leslie Marie Tierney

Leslie Marie (nee Smith) Tierney, 69, of Kenosha, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 15, 2022. Leslie was born on June 12, 1952 in Waukegan, Illinois the daughter of Leslie and June Marie (nee Mitchell) Smith. Leslie graduated from Zion Benton High School with the class of 1970. She resided in Wadsworth, IL, and Winthrop Harbor, IL before settling in Kenosha, WI. After raising her children, Leslie worked in health care for several years as a registrar, at Victory Hospital in Waukegan, IL, and Aurora Hospital in Kenosha, WI. Later in life she worked for Right at Home as a caregiver before retiring. Leslie was a devoted mother and grandmother and attended to her family's needs first. In her free time she enjoyed crafting, playing Pogo, reading, and spoiling her grandchildren. Leslie loved camping, gambling trips and the warm Florida sunshine. She loved collecting flamingos, palm trees and seashells and always desired to put her toes in the sand one more time. Leslie leaves behind her children, Jennifer (Brad) Buntrock, Kathryn (Daniel) Biddle, Robert (Daisy) Tierney; grandchildren, Kaylee Buntrock, Evan Buntrock, Payton Biddle, Makenzie Biddle, Elise Tierney, Colton Tierney; siblings, Shirley (Gordy) Beach, Nancy (Don) Sponenburg, Mary (Bill) Wojnarowki; several nephews, cousins, and a special niece Crystal (Ben) Dillon who helped lovingly care for Leslie in her final weeks. She was preceded in death by her parents. A visitation will be held on March 4th from 4-7 at Congdon Funeral Home, Zion, Il with a Graveside Service on March 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m at Mt Olivet Memorial Park, 1436 Kenosha Road, Zion, Illinois 60099 with a luncheon to follow.
