Obituary of Meredith Melton

Meredith Melton, 89, of Zion, IL passed away peacefully on February 15, 2022 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. Meredith was born July 8, 1932 in Kenosha, WI to Harry and Viola (nee Krueger) Borkenhagen. She moved with her parents to Waukegan at a young age where she attended West Elementary School, and graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1949. She then attended Carol College where she met her husband David Pritzlaff. Meredith resided in WI and MN before returning to her hometown in 1994. Meredith was a member of Waukegan First Methodist Church; she was blessed with a beautiful singing voice that she generously shared in her church choir and was a favorite soloist for many special occasions. Meredith is survived by her son, Michael (Judy) Pritzlaff of Mancos, CO; and sister, Audrey Jordan of Naperville, IL She was preceded in death by husbands, David Pritzlaff , Grant “Bill” Black and Roger Melton; parents, Harry and Viola Borkenhagen; young son, Daniel; and brother-in-law, Charles Jordan. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org or the local elder care of Waukegan that took such good care of Meredith. Services were private for the family.
