Obituary of Barry Keith Knighten

BARRY KEITH KNIGHTEN, 59, departed this life, peacefully at home, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. He was born March 8, 1963, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Willie and Norma Knighten. At an early age, the family moved to Chicago, where he started grade school. When he was 8 years old, the family moved to Zion, IL, where he completed his schooling. As a child, he attended Brothers After the Order of Jesus, (Orthodox faith), Br. Garfield Grace Jr. was his Priest. He lived in Waukegan, IL, for a few years and after his father’s passing, moved to Chicago and resided there until his death. HE LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS MEMORY: His mother, Norma Daniels, 3 sisters: Ernestine (Frank), Pamela and Sister Catherine Anthony, an uncle and Priest, brother Garfield Grace Jr., a very good and trusted friend, whom he called his ‘second mother,’ Linda Little and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and friends. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: His father: Willie Knighten, 2 brothers: Willie Jr. and Stephen,1 sister: Karen, and a loving 2nd-father:Jewel Daniels. JOY COMETH TOMORROW We live our lives in joy and pain. We love, we laugh, we pray, but when our Earthly lives are done, our souls are whisked away. We cry and mourn when loved ones die, our hearts are full of sorrow, but if we trust our God above, our joy will come, tomorrow.
