Rodney Friedrich

Rodney "Fritz Friedrich, 73, of Zion, died on Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at home. He was born, March 13, 1933, in Kenosha, WI, and attended Kenosha schools. Rod married Naomi Gilbertson on January 30, 1954 in Kenosha. He attended Christ Community Church in Zion. Rod had been employed at Burgess-Anderson- Tate/Graphic Partners in Zion for nearly 52 years. He had served as an AWANA leader at Grace Missionary Church in Zion for years, and was a trained paramedic with the Zion Rescue Department. Rod was an avid airplane enthusiast, an EAA member, and he loved his motorcycle. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Naomi; three children, Wayne (Karen) Friedrich of Ely, MN, Gregory (Paula) Friedrich of Wadsworth, IL, and Sheree (Bill) Swaney of Ostrander, OH; four grandchildren, Brett, Allen, Alison, and Aaron; and a great grandson, Braze. Also surviving are nephews, Gary, Glenn, Richard Zenda, Scott Serdar; and one niece Cindy Doering . He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Visitation will be Friday from10:00 a.m. until the service at the funeral home. Interment is private for the family.
