Obituary of Dorothy Stofferahn

Dorothy R. Stofferahn ,97, passed away peacefully at her home on April 27, 2022. Dorothy was born on June 5, 1924 in Blue Island, Illinois, the daughter of William and Jennie (Noxon) Tjader. Dorothy worked at Marshall Fields in downtown Chicago, IL and watched the WWII marches. She married Norm Stofferahn on December 31, 1947 and then moved to Winthrop Harbor, IL. There they raised two children, Kathie (Rick) Yecoshenko, and Mark (Terri) Stofferahn. Dorothy loved going to Minocqua,WI to go snowmobiling, and fishing with her husband, and family. In her spare time she knitted, and read books. She was a member of Zion Faith Homes, Christian Assembly of God, and Journey Church. Dorothy is survived by her children; grandchildren Todd (Janelle) Yecoshenko, Troy Yecoshenko, Justin (Diana) Stofferahn, Brandon (Crystal) Stofferahn, Sara (John)Baldwin; thirteen great-grandchildren, Madison, Addy, Cooper, Brooke, Cash, Kylee, Haylee, Tyler, Nick, Austin, Auvrey, Ryleigh, Easton. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers Warren & Richard Tjader; and grandson Trent Yecoshenko. Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m., at Journey Church, 10700 75t Street, Kenosha, WI 53142. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
