Obituary of Bobbie "Butch" Updike

Bobbie D. ‘Butch” Updike of Beach Park, IL passed away peacefully at home on May 2nd, 2022. Bob was born on January 5th, 1964 to Bob G. Updike and Lauralee Fox in Burlington, WI. Bob attended high school in Antioch, IL and was a member of the Lutheran Faith. Bob realized at young age he was quite the handyman/carpenter and was revered as a ‘Jack of all trades” but a master of none as we liked to kid. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping and just about anything out in nature with good company and a cold brew. Bob adored children but without any of his own he enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews grow and have children of their own. You could see the kindness and tenderness in his heart when he was with children, which melted his bad boy persona away and revealed that he would have been a great dad. Bob is survived by his sister Barbara Angeles & 3 children (Sisco, Jessie and Victor), his sister Dawn Updike (Curtis) & 3 children (Tania, Tyrone and Terrell) and his only brother Brian (Maryanne) & 2 children, Lauralie and Madison and Wanita (Steve) Ullrick & 3 children (Tristian, Trinity and Breanna) as well as a host of great nieces and nephews. In addition to many friends and acquaintances. He was proceeding in death by his mother Lauralee Updike, his sister Brenda Updike, his father Bob Updike and nephew Eliseo Brown.
