Obituary of Albert Custer

Albert L "PeeWee" Custer, 89, of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away surrounded by his family on June 1, 2022. Albert was born on February 3, 1933 in Libertyville, IL the son of Lester Custer, Sr. and Daisy Thelma Gandee. Albert served on the USS Alsted ship from 1951- 1956. Shortly afterwards, Albert married Agnes Patterson on January 23, 1960 in Wadsworth, IL, and again on March 15, 1962 at Immaculate Conception Church, Waukegan IL. He worked for American Motors, Wire Mill, and Johns Manville for over 29 years. He was a lifetime member of Polish Legion of American Veterans, Loyal Order of Moose, and the VFW Post 7448 of Winthrop Harbor IL. Albert is survived by the love of his life of 62 years, Agnes Patterson Custer; children, David (Korine) Custer, Melanie (Lawrence) Molback, John (Carolyn) Custer; grandchildren, Joshua Custer, Elizabeth Custer, Cameron Custer, Anthony (Devon) Pope, Colleen Pope, Brittany (Joseph) Sharp, Brandon (Jaquie) Custer, Jonah Custer, Hayden Custer; great-grandchildren, Jacob Custer, Mahala Pope, Connor Pope, Kyra Sharp, Oliviah Custer, Nathaniel Sharp, Lynix Custer, Elias Quesada; many surviving nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; and daughter-in-law Carol Custer. He was preceded in death by his children, Anthony Custer and Elizabeth Custer; granddaughters, Katherine Custer and Nancy Custer; his parents; four sisters; and three brothers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 5:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, IL 60099. Interment will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois.
