Obituary of Kenneth John Stroud

Kenneth John Stroud,77, of Zion, IL passed away on June 9, 2022 in Libertyville,IL. Kenneth was born on September 8, 1944 in Zion, IL the son of Stanley E. Stroud and Louise Pearl Hicks. Kenneth attended Waukegan High School until he joined the Army where he finished his education, and trained at Fort Huachuca in Arizona. He served in the Army between 1962- 1968 where he was stationed in Germany and Vietnam. Kenneth returned and worked for National Press, then later at a bowling alley, and temp agency. Kenneth enjoyed reading, watching movies, puzzles, working on models, and collecting stamps. He enjoyed helping others, especially his fellow veterans, and working at the food pantry. Kenneth is survived by his two children, David Stroud, Stacey Trochelman; grandchildren, Angelica, Chelsea, Daniel, Phoenix, Savannah, Lillian, Eamon; two great-grandchildren, Nova, Oliver; sisters, Shirley Lopez, Nancy (Phillip) Hendrix; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Stroud; parents; and siblings James Stroud, and Debra Ann Stroud. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Journey Church, 12735 W. Graves Ave, Beach Park, IL 60087. Interment will be held private at Ft. Sheridan Cemetery in Lake Forest, IL.
