Obituary of Jose A Rodriguez

Jose A. Rodriguez, 57, of Zion, IL passed away surrounded by his family on July 3, 2022 in Chicago, IL. Jose was born on February 14, 1965 in Puerto Rico the son of Jose Antonio Manso, and Sonia Rodriguez.
 
Jose lived in Puerto Rico for several years growing up, before moving to Chicago, IL where he received his GED from Roberto Clemente Community Academy. He then married his wife Cassandra Foster on April 14, 1984. Jose worked for Jewel Osco for thirty-seven years, and worked his way up to be manager of the dairy department, while working for Jewel he worked other small part-time jobs. Jose believed in providing for his family and working. In his free time he enjoyed being outside, fishing, riding his moped, playing volleyball or basketball. He was handy fixing things around the house.
 
Jose is survived by his wife Cassandra Rodriguez; children, Helena Rodriguez, Joslyn Rodriguez, Samantha Rodriguez; step-father Daniel Rivera; siblings, Sonia Ivette Manso, Hector (Maru) Manso, Mirna (Hector) Diaz, Santos Daniel Rivera, Daniel (Latoria) Rivera, Carlos Daniel Rivera; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 
 
Jose was preceded in death by his parents. 
 
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, IL 60099
