Obituary of Marlene Kraft

Marlene Kraft, age 90, loving mother of five and adoring wife of husband Frank Kraft, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of August
10, 2022. Marlene was born in 1932 in Sauk Rapid, MN to Alfred and Hulda Meyer.

However, she spent most of her youth in Wausau, WI surrounded by her very large family which included sixteen brothers and sisters. This collection of siblings included two sets of twins; Marlene was herself a twin. After graduating from Wausau High School, Marlene made her way to Waukegan, IL where she met her future husband Frank. Frank and Marlene married on May 17, 1952 in Waukegan’s Immaculate Conception church and shortly after began raising their family: Lawrence (Rose) Kraft, Christine Mors (Kraft), Daniel (Kim) Kraft, James Kraft, and Beth (Joe) Bourgouin (Kraft). Marlene’s grandchildren include Julie Webb (Mors), Peter Mors, Amy Ogrin (Kraft), Kellie Doro (Kraft), Cassie Steinbeck (Kraft), Samuel Kraft, and Zachary Bourgouin. Her great grandchildren are Hailey, Carter, and Addison Webb; Avery and Brady Ogrin; Jack, Nick, and Violet Doro; Jayden and Sam Steinbeck; and Mac Mullins.

When not watching the little ones grow up, Marlene enjoyed bowling in leagues in the winter months and playing in golf leagues during the summer months. Bingo was another of her favorite pastimes. Once the children were grown, Marlene also enjoyed working as a waitress at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Waukegan as well as Knollwood Country Club and Onwentsia Country Club in Lake Forest, IL. A devout Catholic, Marlene was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of
Humility Church in Beach Park, IL.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church, 10655 W Wadsworth Rd, Beach Park, IL 60099. Entombment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
