Rosemary Owens

Rosemary (Schlosser) Owens, (September 18, 1927 – January 21, 2023) lived a full, active life in her 95 years. One of five children of Frank and Evelyn Schlosser of Waukegan, IL, Rosemary married her high school sweetheart, George J. Owens, on October 27, 1945. While raising her family, Rosemary worked for the A&P Tea Company before retiring to travel and square dance with her beloved George. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rosemary was rarely seen without a book or her crocheting supplies. Rosemary cherished time spent with family and often fed her brood trays of pasties and pans of chocolate (mayonnaise) cake. Her survivors include sons, Gary (Joan) Owens of Antioch, IL, Thomas (Carol) Owens and Jeff Owens, both of Winthrop Harbor, IL; grandchildren, Jonathan (Gina), Derick (Charissa), Scott, and Jason (Stacia) Owens; great-grandchildren, Kendra, Gabrielle, Kaylen, Natasha, Katarina, and Savannah; sister, Ione (Schlosser) Picou of Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews and other family. Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, Frank and Evelyn Schlosser; siblings Jim, Jack, and Betty Jean (Schlosser) Smith; and grandson, Douglas Owens. Funeral Services will be private with family at Millburn Cemetery, Millburn, IL
