Obituary of Loretta Chapman

Loretta (Lori) F. Chapman, 89, of Zion, IL died February 23, 2023 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Loretta was born June 9, 1933 in Parderborn, Illinois. She was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, IL and worked at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, IL. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling with the Early Riser Bowling League. She bowled for 50 years and received multiple awards over the years.  Loretta was an active gardener, excellent seamstress, and enjoyed bird watching.

She is survived by her children, Carol Zenner and Edward Chapman; grandchildren, Christopher (Danielle) Zenner; great-grandchildren, Cory and Kiara Patrone, Madyson, Josephine and Christina Zenner; siblings, sister Hedwig Neff, Aurelia Bell, Dorothy (Bryce) DeLancey, Celetine Neff, and Alice Grohman, Cletus (Mary) Neff, Patricia Courtner, Myra (Jim) Middendorff; and sister in law, Rosie Neff.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Gregory Neff and Hedwig Wachtel; grand-daughter, Cynthia Patrone; brothers, Stanley, Norman and Tom Neff; sisters-in-law, Rita and April Neff; brothers-in-law, Bob Bell, Donald Grohman and Donald Courtner.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
