Loretta Foster

Obituary of Loretta Lynn Foster

Loretta "Lori" Lynn Foster was born on December 19, 1949. She passed away on May 24, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.

Lori was born in Highland Park, Illinois and grew up in Keokuk, Iowa where she attended Southeastern Iowa College, obtaining a degree in interior design.

After graduating, she moved to the Lake County area where she met the love of her life and soon to be husband, John Foster. Shortly thereafter they welcomed their baby girl, Jill into the world. Lori spent her early years cheering on her husband from the sidelines of the softball field. When she wasn’t being John’s number one fan, she dedicated her life to her daughter and grandsons, who were the sunshine of her life. Her caring personality would shine through especially during the Christmas season. This was her favorite time of the year, not only could she bake and make candies, but she could also share with others, and that was her gift, love.  The moment Lori entered a room, she would fill it with her beautiful smile and vibrant personality. She had such a positive attitude towards everything and everyone. Even in her darkest days when she was dealing with her own illness, she would not only reach out to others but also would lend a comforting hand and a positive voice to encourage others to keep moving forward. One of Lori’s most cherished qualities was the love of family and being together. Even in her most vulnerable moments, she had the ability to fill the room with genuine love. She will forever be remembered for the light she shined on everyone she touched. She will be dearly and deeply missed.

Lori leaves behind John Foster, her beloved husband of 53 years; daughter Jill (David) Limbo; grandsons Joshua (Kaeli) and Jacob (Megan); and fur babies Izzy and Micah.
