Felix F. Flok, Sr, 82 of Wildwood, Illinois passed away December 3, 2023 at the Captain James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL. Felix was Born January 15, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Walter and Helen Flok.
Felix married Carla in Farwell, Texas on April 28, 1962 at the Church of Christ. Felix enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1963. While in the Air Force, Felix began his educational career and love into avionics. To further his education, he also attended Lewis University in Chicago. Felix was an A & P (airframe and powerplant) inspector for American Airlines where he retired. After retirement he began and retired once again from Woodland School District 50. Felix was a lifetime Century Club member of EAA, chapter number 414. He was a member of the American Legion post 0771. Felix was a Mason with the Rising Sun Lodge
he then became a 32nd degree of the Scottish rite Valley of Chicago and a valued riding member of the Medinah motor corps Shriners.
Felix was an aviation enthusiast, he loved anything aviation. He was always on the go fixing something and never afraid to learn something new. He was a dad and friend to all he knew. He loved experiencing new things and spending time with his grandchildren. One of his passions was to make model pop can airplanes. He was apart of building many planes, some personal and some with friends. A few planes he was a part of building were the Porterfield, Ercoupe and Zenith 650. He was someone you could always call on to figure out anything. In the past few years he enjoyed playing poker with his friends.
Felix is survived by his children, Felix Jr (Kellie) Flok, Carlene (Matt) Karow and John Buitenhuis; Five grandchildren, Casey (Jesse) Binninger, Brettney Black, Jessie Black, Corbin Flok and Darian Klein; Four great grandchildren and cousin, Pearl Krausowski.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carla Flok and parents Walter and Helen Flok.
Memorial
service and celebration of life will be held at the United Protestant Church, 54 South Whitney Street, Grayslake, IL at 10 am on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
