Walter L. Davis, 85, of Zion, IL and most currently Fort Myers FL, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024.
Walter was born July 5, 1938 in Chicago, IL. He served in the First Battalion, platoon 1015 for the United States Marine Corps. Wally was well known throughout the community for his devotion to his religion of Jehovah Witness. Even those who did not participate in the religion invited him in to talk about life. He could talk to anyone and everyone about anything. He loved to volunteer at the local hospitals and meet new people. His passion for people and interactions stem from many years working in the car dealership industry. You would catch him for many years at Nostalgia Days in his 57’ Chevy Bel air. He was also very talented at drawing and practiced calligraphy. He enjoyed being outside and taking walks and feeding the ducks and squirrels with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family was his biggest joy and accomplishment in life.
Walter is survived by his children, Tim Davis of Gilbert, AZ, and Tina Davis-Vargo of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, Stephen Davis, Amanda Sibley, Johnathon Vargo, Ryan Agnew, Reide Davis, Paige Davis, and Grace Davis; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia Davis and both parents.
