Obituary of Heather Shelton

Heather Josephine Thayer Shelton, of Beach Park, Illinois passed away February 20, 2024 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was born June 30, 1930 in Fulton County, South Dakota. 

Heather previously lived in Zion, Illinois as well as Colorado. She graduated from Eagle County High School in Gypsum, Colorado in 1949. Heather married her husband, Randall Shelton on September 5, 1951 in Clifton, Colorado. Heather and Randall were married for 69 years prior to Randall's passing. She was a member of The Church of God in Kenosha, Wisconsin for over 60 years. Heather last worked at Bender’s Flower Shop in Zion, Illinois. 

Heather is survived by her children, Linda Thompson, Randall Shelton, and Nancy Shelton; grandchildren, Melissa (Tom) Edwards and Melanie Thompson; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Andrew, Ryan, Tyler, and Wyatt; sister, Elsie Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Shelton; son-in-law, Michael Thompson; parents, Lee and Flossie Thayer; and siblings, Marvin, Robert, Allan, James, Agnes, and Gene.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday March 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Meadowridge Baptist Church 4500 IL-173, Zion, Illinois 60099 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Meadowridge Baptist Church.
