Pearl Hargett

1921 — January 5, 2007

Pearl Hargett, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 5, 2007, in Zion. Pearl was born April 9, 1921, in Braxton, TN, to Pearson and Novella McBroom. When she was three years old her family moved to Port, OK, where she lived until she graduated from high school. She then moved to Ft. Worth, TX. In 1941 she married Wm. Lee Havens and was blessed with two children. Ten years after her husband's death she married Larris Hargett and moved to Zion, IL. Pearl worked at the Ft. Worth Shopper for many years, and later for the Zion Nursing Home. After she retired she was an avid quilter and made many quilts for her family. Pearl was an active member of Grace Missionary Church in Zion. Survivors include her husband Larris Hargett; son, David (Charlene) Havens; daughter, Carolyn Guerrero; step-daughter, LaJauan (Richard) Osborne; grandsons, David Havens Jr., Michael and Brian Welch, and Derek and Barry Osborne; sister, Dorothy (Lindell) Vanderveer; sisters-in-law, Velvie Morrow and Louise McBroom; and a brother-in-law, Stanley Hargett. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wm. L. Havens, her parents; brothers and their spouses, Ben (Blanche) McBroom, Ralph (Mae) McBroom, Dave McBroom; and sisters and their spouses, Clara (Charles) Fincher and Rachel (Olin) Worley; son-in-law, Paul Guerrero; and a sister-in-law, Mavis Hargett. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Pastor Douglas Carlson of Grace Missionary Church, Zion, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2007, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Grace Missionary Church or ZEMA.
