Alice Dorothy Feige, 91, of Wadsworth, IL passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Born July 6, 1932 in Waukegan, IL. She married the love of her life, Bruno E. Feige on January 14, 1961. Alice was above all a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandma (Oma) and served them in any way she could. She loved people well through her generous outpouring of hospitality, sharing her home with groups and friends for dinner or for overnight stays. She laughed easily and forgave quickly.
She was a faithful member and attendee of Immanuel Church, Gurnee for over 70 years. She volunteered in various roles, such as being a greeter, Sunday school teacher, kids’ midweek program leader, Deaconess, and sharing her gift of hospitality in the church kitchen and church-hosted socials in her home. Most importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior and will be remembered as someone who honored Him with her humble, loving, servant heart.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years Bruno E. Feige; daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Lenz of Wadsworth, IL, Linda (Art) Schultz, Wadsworth, IL, Karin (Steve) Wood, Wadsworth, IL; grandchildren, Jordan, Kurtis, Braden, Cameron, Mason, Carter, Mikayla, Julia and Colton; and 7 great grandchildren, Violet, Joey, Jack, Frankie, Luna, Georgia, and Layla. While she had three children, there were countless others who also thought of her as “mom.”
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Martha Black; and her baby brother Lawrence Black.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 4:30 PM with visitation from 3:00-4:30 PM at Immanuel Church, 2300 Dilleys Road, Gurnee, IL.
Memorial donations can be made to Immanuel Church.
