Uvil Pearson, 79, of Zion died January 19, 2007 at V.A. Medical Center in North Chicago.
Uvil was born February 8, 1927 in Itawamba County, Mississippi and moved to Zion 56 years ago. He retired in the early 1980's from Zion-Benton Township Highschool. He served with the United States Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Winthrop Harbor VFW.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Lurlie Pearson; two sons Paul (Deborah) Pearson, Donald Pearson; one daughter Anita Hopkins; six grandchildren Chris Pearson, Nick and Adam Markoutsis, Earl, Stephen, and Edward Hopkins; three brothers Cecil Pearson of Red Bay, Alabama, Price (Faye) Pearson of Golden, Mississippi, Danny (Jeanette) Pearson of Golden, Mississippi; and two sisters Mavis (Richard) Winchester of Red Bay, Alabama, and Clydia Taylor of Fulton, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; and one grandson Michael Pearson.
