Georgie Birky

Georgie Birky, 79, of Beach Park died February 7, 2007 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. Georgie was born August 5, 1927 in Russell, Illinois and moved to Beach Park in 1960. She enjoyed doing crafts and was an avid sewer. Georgie is survived by her children Sharon (Richard) Schultz, of Beach Park, Mark Birky of Beach Park, Janell (Larry) Mussellman of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren Michael Schultz of Racine, Wisconsin, Sandy (Robert) Ditzig of Beach Park, Karen Brock of Hartfort, Connecticut, Cori Birky of Lakemoor, Illinois, Meganne Birky of Elkhart, Indiana, and Joel Robinson of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 1993, her father and mother, and her brother Dean Newyear in 2003. A visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2007 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
