Obituary of Margaret Skalla

Margaret A. Skalla, 95, of Kenosha, WI, died on Saturday, February 17, 2007, at Sheridan Medical Complex in Kenosha. Margaret was born, March 11, 1911, in Riggs, Iowa. She and her beloved sister, Helen, had lived in Chicago and Winter Park, Florida, before moving to Kenosha in 2002. Both Margaret and Helen were always dedicated to the Catholic faith and both devoted their lives to the work of the Lord through their Churches-first Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Chicago, then St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, Florida and most recently, Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, IL. Margaret was also employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Company, retiring after 44 years, and she and her sister belonged to Telephone Pioneers. Survivors include many loving nieces and nephews including locally Barbara (Skalla) Baruffi of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Margie (Skalla) Ciancio of Waukegan, IL, Mary (Skalla) Howell of Waukegan, IL, Georgine (Skalla) Rehor of Mundelein, IL, and Richard Schmidt of Pennsylvania who lovingly handled all of hr personal affairs. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Helen Skalla, Anne Stebley, Rose Dunn, Agnes Schmidt, Katherine Hegman and Mayme Scala; two brothers, Joseph and John Skalla, and her parents, John and Agnes Primozic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W Wadsworth Road, Beach Park. Interment will follow on Wednesday , February 28, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois . A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Humility Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Humility Church of Beach Park, or Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Ridge Road, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158.
