Jennifer Lou Scanlin, 62, of Zion and formerly of San Jose, California, died on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, Illinois.
Jennifer was born May 17, 1944 in Waukegan. She lived in various locations around the world due to her late father and her late husband both serving in the military. She was employed for 18 years at Sun Microsystems, retiring in 2006. Jennifer studied and followed Native American culture, something she enjoyed very much. She was also an avid collector, enjoyed scrap booking, and liked making home made jewelry.
Survivors include one son Randolph (Sarah) Scanlin of San Jose, California; one daughter Dawn Scanlin of Zion; three grandchildren Katherine, Sarita and Garrett Scanlin all of San Jose; one sister Wendy (Mark) Hanlon of Zion; three nieces and nephews; one very dear friend Debbie Santos of Phoenix, Arizona; and several cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Randolph D. Scanlin Sr.; and her parents Llewellyn and Anita Bright.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Pastor Ken Langley of Christ Community Church of Zion officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Camp Zion have been suggested.
