James "Sam" Prill, 69, of Racine, Wisconsin and formerly of Zion, died on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at home in Racine.
He was born January 23, 1938 in New Lisbon, Wisconsin and moved to Zion in 1970 and to Racine in 1999. He was a Veteran having served with the United States Army, stationed in Germany. Sam retired in 2000 from Cherry Electric after 38 years and he was a faithful volunteer at Faith Tabernacle Food Pantry in Zion for several years. He was an avid collector of "junk" and he could fix anything for anyone. Sam never knew a stranger. He would give you the shirt off his back and a ride wherever you needed to go - Thank-you Sam!
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jean; children Debbie (Bruce) Jackola of Winthrop Harbor, James (Debbie) Prill of Zion and Andrea Lomack, Jill (Maine) Kirksey and Mell (Kenyatta) Lomack all of Racine, Wisconsin; thirteen grandchildren; one brother Charles Prill of Arizona; and two sisters Margaret Madsen of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and Helen (Norbert) Feih of Grafton, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra; one sister Sandra Taylor; one brother Richard Prill; and his parents Charles and Sadie Prill.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 11th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Adams of New Song Church officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to Faith Tabernacle Food Pantry, 2810 30th Street, Zion, have been suggested.
