Donald W. Smith, 74, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, died on Monday, April 2, 2007 at home following a long illness. Don was born September 28, 1932 in Zion and moved to Pleasant Prairie in 1967. He was a member of Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church. Don was an Electrician and was a fifty year member of IBEW, Local 150. He was also a fifty year member of Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #667 and he served four years in the United States Navy from 1951 until 1955. Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Mona (nee Thibedeau) Smith; one daughter Lisa D. (Henry) Smith-Sigger of Kenosha, Wisconsin; one son Thomas Smith of Kenosha, Wisconsin; three grandchildren Daniel Brandt, Cheri Smith and Jennifer Smith; four great-grandchildren Katrina, Haliey, Julia and Aiden; and one sister Carol Hanna of San Saba, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Boyd and Nora (nee Ward) Smith. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where Moose services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Singleton of Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to either the Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church, or, Vitas Hospice of Kenosha, Wisconsin have been suggested.
