Lillian Anita Lechwar, 84, a lifelong resident of Zion, Il, died on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Arbor View Nursing Home in Zion. She was born September 21, 1922, in Zion, and was a member of the first graduating class of Zion-Benton Township High School, class of 1939. Lillian married Edward L. Lechwar on August 10, 1945, in Winthrop Harbor, IL. She was a lifelong member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion, Il, and did extensive volunteer work in the Zion community, including being a member of the Ladies American Legion Auxillary Post 1187, Aviation Ordinance Men Ladies Auxillary.
Survivors include her sons, Edward A. Lechwar of Zion, IL, Michael J. (Debra) Lechwar of Dunlap, IL, Joseph D. (Christina) Lechwar of Fairfax, Virginia, Peter A. (Judy) Lechwar of Phoenix, Arizona; and daughter, Anita A. Lechwar of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Mark Lechwar of Round Lake Beach, IL, Justin Lechwar of O'Fallon, Missouri, Chelsea Lechwar of Peoria, IL, and Kelly, Katelynn, Kristyn, and Daniel Lechwar; all of Phoenix, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward L. Lechwar in 1994; brother, Lawrence Draudt; and sisters, Jesse Anderson and Alice Rhode; and her parents, Fred and Blanche Draudt.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2007, at 11:00 a.m at Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Memorial United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
