Obituary of Richard Behling

Richard H. "Dick" Behling Sr, 70, of Zion, Il, died on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Sheridan Health Care Center in Zion. Dick was born July 30, 1936, in Janesville, WI, and retired from the J.I. Case Company. He also was formerly employed by the Orkin Company. Dick was a Boy Scout Leader when his sons were young, and was a devoted Mason. He was also a proud former member of the United States Coast Guard. Dick enjoyed fishing, and was a talented artist. He was a member of Lakeside Community Church in Zion. Dick was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survivors include six children, Richard H. Behling Jr., Stephen (Marlene) Behling Sr., David Behling, Phillip Behling, and Brenda Wheeler, all of Kenosha, WI, and Garien (Diane) Behling Sr. of Aurora, CO; eight grandchildren, Maia Behling, Karina Sanford, Garien Behling Jr, Troy Behling, Brittany Van Aller, Stephen Behling Jr., and Michael and Annie Behling; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Patricia Sanford; three brothers, two sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at 7:00 p.m at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, Il. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in his memory would be appreciated.
