Obituary of William Garbett

William Joe Garbett, 43, of Beach Park, died on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at home. He was born September 8, 1963 in Ishpeming, Michigan and has lived in this area most of his life. He was employed as a Plumber with Union Local 93 out of Volo, Illinois. He was also a avid archery enthusiast and he lived and loved to ride his Harley's. Survivors include his children Lily Garbett of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, Jillian Garbett of Winthrop Harbor, Michelle (Chris) Keller of Savannah, Georgia and Gage Sarbacker of Winthrop Harbor; two brothers Leslie (Lorna) Garbett and Mike Gignac both of Winthrop Harbor; former wife Rhonda Whitmore Garbett of Winthrop Harbor; maternal grandmother Helen Hill of Negaunee, Michigan; uncles Danny (Heidi) Hill and Butchie (Dorothy) Hill both of Negaunee, Michigan; and friends Joan Cowart, Lloyd Tyra, Brian Knoll and Tim Cowart. He was preceded in death by one sister Lisa Knoll; parents William and Sharon Garbett; and his step-father Don Gignac; and maternal grandfather Leonard Hill. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2007, from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 25th, at 10:30 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 3001 9th Street, Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, with Pastor Dr. Michael Brown officiating and private cremation to follow.
