Obituary of Waltraud Brewington

Waltraud "Wally" Brewington, 63, of Winthrop Harbor, died on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at home surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born May 21, 1944 in Bremen, Germany and came to Waukegan in 1959. She was a member of Spirit of Life Church in Zion. She was known for always helping people and for her love of cooking. Survivors include her two sons Donny (Michelle) Brewington of Beach Park and Rodney Brewington of Winthrop Harbor; four grandchildren Samantha , Cheyenne, Christopher and Ashley Brewington; her father John Hasselman of Grayslake; her aunt Inge (James) Campbell of Zion; and best friends Maxine Billick and her grandson Logan. She was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Christine Hasselman. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 2, 2007, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd, at 11:00 a.m., at Spirit of Life Church, 1222 Lorelei Drive, Zion, with Sister Phyllis Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to Spirit of Life Pentecostal Church have been suggested.
