Hazel Marie Reed, 91, of Zion, died on Monday, October 1, 2007 at Rolling Hills Place assisted living in Zion.
Hazel was born January 3, 1916 in Albion, Indiana and had lived in Zion, Illinois and Phoenix, Arizona. She attended school in Zion and was a long-time member of Christ Community Church of Zion and Mountain View Chapel in Phoenix. Hazel retired from Sears Roebuck & Company after 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Winfield J. Reed; step-son, Richard Reed of Flagler Beach, Florida; step-daughter, Penny (John) Saco of Pleasantville, New York; step-grandchildren, Greg (Traci) Indlecoffer, Greg (Shelly) Storm, Joe (Cami) Luppino, and James (Nicki) Reiss; six step-great-grandchildren; nephews, Rev. Wayne (Elisabeth) Hostetter of Alabama and Floyd Jr. (B.J.) Hostetter of Jacksonville, Florida; and nieces, June (Paul) Bosworth of Fayetteville, Alabama and Donna (Cliff) Bell of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Nogle; brothers, Ted Hostetter, Floyd Hostetter, and Burnell Hostetter; and her parents, Charles and Ella Wert.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Pastor Ken Langley of Christ Community Church and Rev. Wayne Hostetter, her nephew, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Friday, October 5th, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
