Obituary of Shirely Dow

Shirley E. Dow, 87, of Zion, Illinois and formerly of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, Illinois. Shirley was born June 27, 1920 in Waukegan. While in Colorado Springs she was employed at Goodwill Industries. Survivors include two daughters Donna M. Blake of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Judith (Lee) Davis of Waukegan, Illinois; ten grandchildren James, Kimberly, Michelle, Tina, Nickie, Doug, Cindy, Denise, Dorie and John IV; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister Dorothy Schumacher of Mountain View, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Dow II; one son John A. Dow III; one granddaughter Shayann Heaver; one sister Lorraine Bombolis; and her parents Frederick and Viola (nee Koepsel) Hangabrauck. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois, where the family will be receiving friends from 12:00 noon until time of services.
