Obituary of Alvin Schaefer

Alvin A. "Red" Schaefer, 92, of Libertyville, IL, formerly of Waukegan, died on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Red was born February 20, 1920, in Johnsburg, IL, and served with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He formerly owned Schaefer Packing in Mundelein, IL. He was an avid golfer. Survivors include two sons, Gregory (Freda) Schaefer of Jacksonville, FL, and Craig (Jane) Schaefer of Lindenhurst, IL; four grandchildren, Don (Peg) Schaefer, David (Molly ) Schaefer, LaTisha (Tom) Kelley, and Tyra Hawkins; ten great-grandchildren, Danielle, Patrick, Casey, Carly, Cameron, Bryce, Chase, Landry, Colin, and Carson, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Schaefer, and grandson, Brad Vail. Funeral Services are private for the family.
