Jason Traynor

Obituary of Jason Traynor

Jason Robert "Jay" Traynor came into this world on March 22, 1972. He brought with him an energy and spirit that filled the room whenever he walked in. His smile was infectious as was his laugh. He had aspirations of becoming a chef, or owning a restaurant. He loved cooking, a skill he often used for treating family and friends, much to their delight. Jay was a model of generosity, ready to drop whatever he was doing at a moment's notice to help a loved one with any task, big or small. He was hopeful and optimistic, even in the darkest of times. Jay overcame some unexpected obstacles in 2009, including a stroke which hindered his love of speaking. Jay was taken from us suddenly on January 21, 2013, and the world is a lesser place for it. Jay is survived by his parents, Sun, and William and Marjory Traynor; brother, Andrew (Holly) Traynor of Gurnee, IL; sister, Sara Wargo of Kenosha, WI; brother, Alex (Sonja) Wicketts of Kenosha, WI; and nieces, Emily and Shelby Wargo and Briseis Wicketts. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Alice Traynor, Dae Bong and Pak Soon Hong, and Kenneth A. and Marjory L.Henke. Visitation will be Monday, January 28, 2013, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan, Rd., Zion, IL. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ben Squires of Bethel Lutheran Church of Gurnee, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family.
