Obituary of Judith Jastrom

Judith "Judy" Marie Jastrom 72, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL, after a 5 1/2 year battle with cancer. Judy was born April 17, 1939, in Waukegan, to Howard and Marie Antcliff. She was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School. Judy married Ronald Jastrom on October 11, 1958, at Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan. She retired as an employee of various Jewel Food Stores in the area after about 30 years of service. Prior to that employment, she worked as an LPN at Victory Memorial Hospital. Judy loved her family deeply. Her volunteer work included being a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and working with Toys for Tots. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ronald; sons, Gary (Leticia) Jastrom of Zion, IL, and Thomas (Tracy) Jastrom of Evans, GA; grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, Patrick, and Grace Jastrom; great-grandchild, Trinity Jastrom; numerous nieces and nephews, (including beloved nephews, Michael and David Kolar); sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gerry and Jerry Kolar; and other family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Bill Jastrom. A Chapel Committal Service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, 1436 Kenosha Rd., Zion, at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Joe Allen, officiating. The family expresses appreciation to the caring staff at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion; including Dr. Thompson; Physician's Assistant Larry Wiggins; Case Worker Wanda; Patient Care Tech. Karen; R.N. Jessica; and Family Physician, Dr. Engstrom.
