Obituary of Ronald Matulnik

Ronald "Ron" Matulnik, 69, of Beach Park and formerly of Mundelein, Illinois, died on Monday, January 28, 2008 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Ron was born September 28, 1938 in Chicago. He was currently a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wadsworth and formerly belonged to Santa Maria Del Popolo in Mundelein. Ron was a Veteran having served with the United States Air Force. He was also a 4th Degree Member of Knights of Columbus for 31 years and was formerly active in Society of St. Vincent DePaul. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary; children, Jeffrey Matulnik of Vernon, Connecticut, Todd Matulnik of Columbus, Ohio, and Jaclyn (Geoff) McKarns of Mundelein, Illinois; three grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda Matulnik and Gabrielle McKarns; one brother, Jim (Martha) Mensching of Wilmette, Illinois; and several fond nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, February 2, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 15000 Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth, Illinois. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Northbrook. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1st, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, and again on Saturday morning, February 2nd, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at St. Patrick's Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Society of St. Vincent DePaul have been suggested.
