Daryl J. Novak, 57, of Zion, IL, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, January 25, 2008. Daryl is survived by his wife, Debra; a daughter, Michelle Shinn; three sons, Albert Novak, Jonathan Novak, and Nathaniel Novak; two step-sons, Eric (Heidi) Boehmer and Matthew (Georgann) Boehmer and two step-daughters, Sarah (Carl) Kreye and Rachel (Michael) Ester; two grandchildren, Amber Shinn and Daniel Shinn; and eight step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert C. Novak; his mother, Leona Novak; and his sister, Mary Jo Novak. Daryl graduated from Waukegan High School and served in the Marine Corp Reserves. He has put his heart into A-1 Home Sales, Inc. in Park City, IL, which he has owned and operated for many years. He was president of Beach Park Little League and a coach for many years. Daryl had a heart of compassion for the less fortunate. He has donated much of his time and effort to the Free Meal at United Methodist Church in Waukegan as well as the Abiding Love Food Pantry in Zion. He also loved his church family at Heritage of Faith Christian Center in Winthrop Harbor, IL. It would be his wish to have donations sent to Heritage of Faith in lieu of flowers. The family will receive visitors from 5:00pm to 6:30pm with a Memorial Service to follow on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Heritage of Faith Christian Center, 623 N. Kenosha Rd., Winthrop Harbor, IL 60096. Daryl will be buried in Calumet, MI with his family.
