Janice Pye, 62, of Zion, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL.
Janice was born November 19, 1951 in Waukegan, IL to Jesse and Marion Butler. She was an avid doll collector and a Barbie Doll Fanatic. She also loved to dance and was well known in Lake County as a Line Dance Instructor at Sundance Saloon, Zion Park District, Warren Township Senior Center, Swedish American in Kenosha as well as many receptions and parties. She loved life and was an inspiration to everyone. She graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1969. Janice loved being a stay-at-home mom with her children. When they were old enough, she drove school bus for Zion-Benton Township High School from which she retired in June of 2012.
She met Dan when she was only 13, married her best friend on June 21, 1969, and spent over 44 years in a beautiful and loving relationship. She was such a loving person.
She loved her children Jim Pye, Jason Pye, Jesse Pye, and D'Arcy Pye-McDonald. She adored her grandchildren Ryan, Destiny, Dylan, Dakota, Mercedes, Dayton, Aidan, and Erin. She was best friends with her sister Sandra Butler. She also loved her daughter-in-laws Carrie Pye and Bianca Pye, her son-in-law Marvin McDonald, her brother and sisters-in-law Mike & Terrie Pye, Rob & Carol Pye, Patty Pollitt, Butch Demiglio, and Terry Butler as well as all her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Marion and Jesse Butler; her brothers Bill & Edward Butler; her sister Lynn Demiglio; and her mother & father-in-law Alyce & Donald Pye.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, IL followed by a memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to Helping Hands Food Pantry at Our Lady of Humility Church.
