Obituary of Joseph Starling

Joseph Lamont Starling, 58 of Pleasant Prairie, WI died at home Thursday January 16, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer; his family at his bedside. Joe was born December 7, 1955, in Waukegan, IL. He was proudly employed by Rockwell Automation, Milwaukee, WI, as a Senior Tax Accountant. Joe received his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Parkside. Joe owned and operated "Joe's Place" in Winthrop Harbor, IL for 22 years prior to graduating from college. He took great pride in working in his yard and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Joe's greatest joys were his wife, two sons, career and walking his "rescue" dog, Jackson. Joe is survived by his wife, Judy (Bozeman) of 22 years; two sons, Aaron (Maria) Kreul and Adam (Helena) Kreul; sister, June (Randy) Mink; niece, Lesley Mink; step-father, Lee Bledsoe; his children, Diane, Glenda and Robert; step-mother, Faye Starling; her children, Danny, Debbie, Ann and Bobby; nephew, John Cody; other family members; and so may good friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his father, Lamont Starling; mother, Della Jean (Hale) Bledsoe and sister, Pamela Starling. The family would like to thank everyone who cared for Joe and showed their kindness for this journey of his life. A celebration of Joe's life will be held on February 2, 2014 from 1 to 5 pm at The Other Place Lighthouse, 935 Sheridan Road, Winthrop Harbor, IL 60096. Joe requests, in lieu of flowers, a donation "In Memory of Joe Starling" can be made to the Safe Harbor Animal Humane Society, 7811 60th Avenue, Kenosha WI 53142. A donation box will also be available at the celebration.
