Obituary of Karen Levin

Karen L. Levin (nee Jones) of Winthrop Harbor, died April 10, 2014 at home with her family by her side. Karen was born September 26, 1947 in Huntsville, AL. She attended Waukegan schools and graduated from Waukegan High School in 1966. Karen married Ron C. Levin in November of 1977. She enjoyed working in printing throughout her working career, having worked for Munder Color for 14 years in Zion, and then for Vista Hospital running the print shop. Karen and Ron enjoyed many happy and fun years with family and friends at their summer place in Pardeeville, WI. Karen loved and will miss her loving husband and of course all of his joking around. She loved and enjoyed all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed. Karen is survived by her husband Ron; one son Christopher Pavelski; step-son Ronald (Kris) D. Levin; step-daughter Renee Kooi; eight grandchildren Joey Pavelski, Heather Garvin, Makenzie Kooi, Maddie Kooi, Devin Kooi, Logan Levin, Hannah Levin and Megan Levin; three great-grandchildren; sister and best friend Pat (Dick) Naber; brother Ronald (Karen) Jones; and sister Brenda (Jerry) Lansbury. She was preceded in death by her parents Elsie and Johnnie Jones; and her mother and father-in-law Marge and Herman Levin. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Bycroft of Northpoint Church, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
