Obituary of Grace E. Guy

Grace E. Guy passed away peacefully, and went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2016. Grace was known by family and friends as a very loving, caring and generous Grandmother. Grace truly loved all of her friends and relatives, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She expressed a special place in her heart for the Lord. Grace was born March 17, 1927 residing her entire life in Zion and Winthrop Harbor. She was active for many years with the Girl Scouts and Memorial United Methodist Church, and was previously employed by Whiteside Drapery and Zion Industries. Survivors include her daughter Pamela (Jack) McDonald; son Ronald Guy; three grandchildren Jeremy (Melissa) McDonald, Kim Colella, and Jennifer McDonald. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Martha Hardy; husband Benjamin Guy; brothers Albert F. Hardy, and Daniel Hardy; and her sisters Elmira Hnatek, and Margart Brock. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Grace can be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL 60099.
