Obituary of Sandra Teunas

Sandra “Sandy” Teunas, 70, of Beach Park, IL died peacefully Thursday, January 19, 2017 at home surrounded by her husband, daughters, and dear friend Tass. Sandy was born October 28, 1946 in Tupelo, MS. She married Alan Teunas on August 16, 1965 and they were married for 51 years. She was an artist who enjoyed painting and floral designs and worked at Jewel as the designer in the floral department. Sandy also enjoyed antiques, racing, shopping, and any chance to spend time with the grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Alan; children, Laurie (Dearl) Livingston and Amanda (Kevin) Ekdahl both of Winthrop Harbor, IL; grandchildren, Taylor (Adam) Smith, Zachary Livingston, and Ryan Ekdahl; sisters-in-law, Carol (L.C.) Williams and Gloria (Doug) Camarato; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a ton of good friends who prayed and cared for her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey and Flora Franks. Special thank you for the incredible team at Aurora Health Care in Zion, Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, and Vista Hospice for the support they gave during her battle with cancer. Visitation will take place Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
