Obituary of Janice Irene Gonzalez

Janice Irene (Mink) Gonzalez, age 53 of Zion, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Vista Medical Center, Waukegan IL. Janice was born December 13, 1963, in Libertyville, IL, the daughter of Olis Wayne and Sharon Rose Mink. Janice was a loving mother of nine children. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially grandchildren. She was a wonderful homemaker who was thoughtful and caring to others. She was a lifetime resident of Zion, IL and she graduated from Zion Benton-Township High School in 1982. She was preceded in death by her father, Olis Wayne Mink and her two children Jonathan and Jessica Gonzalez, Grandparents Axel & Amy Anderson, Viod Mink, Mother in law Martha Gonzalez, Sister in law Irene Morgan, brother in law Danny Gonzalez and nephew Edward Dante Curtis Jr. She is survived by her husband of thirty years, Henry Gonzalez, their seven children: Kimberly Gonzalez, David (Krystal) Gonzalez, Heather (Pedro) Hernandez, Mark (Melissa) Gonzalez, Kelly (Oliver) Gonzalez, Scott Gonzalez and Randy Gonzalez and their grandchildren: Jaylin, Skyler, Mariah, Julian, Vicente, and Emiliano. She is also survived by her mother, Sharon Rose Mink, Grandmother Lurlie Mink, Uncle Lawrence (Francis) Anderson, her two brothers Darren (Jennifer) Mink, Dennis Mink and her sister Carleen (Edward) Curtis and her nieces and nephews: Dayveon, Donovan, Devin, Marionah, Ashley and Cheyenne and many loving family members. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family.
