Obituary of Sylvia R. Trygar

Sylvia R. Trygar (nee Zorc), 83, of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away January 30, 2017 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL with her family by her side. She was born December 13, 1933 in Waukegan, IL and graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1952. In 1954 Sylvia married Chester Trygar at Mother of God Catholic Church in Waukegan, IL. She was a bookkeeper at North Shore Gas Company and later at Our Lady of Humility Church for 25 years until she retired in 1991 to take care of her precious new granddaughter. She was an active member in the church and supported fund-raising activities for over 20 years, such as bingo. For 75 years, Sylvia was a member of KSKJ. She loved to paint with all art mediums. Gardening, tending to her flowers, and yard work was time she enjoyed spending with Chester. She will always be remembered for her great cooking and baking skills. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Chester; children, Debra (Steven) Angrist and Joseph (Kimberly) Trygar; granddaughter, Paloma “Peaches” (Raymond) Kennedy; brother, Michael Zorc; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Pauline Zorc; and brother, Ottavio Zorc. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
