Obituary of Emily DuPree

Emily M. DuPree (nee Perez), age 79, of Beach Park, IL, died February 13, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Emily was born August 14, 1937 in Waukegan, IL to Edward and Rosa Perez. She married Donald DuPree on February 11, 1956 at Our Lady of Humility Church in Zion. Emily was a charter member of Our Lady of Humility Church and remained active as the church organist and in many other roles throughout the years. Emily worked in the activity department of Crown Manor Nursing Home in Zion for 25 years. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don DuPree; children, Jim (Kim) DuPree of Beach Park, IL, and Jane (Jon) Oye of Waukegan, IL; grandchildren, Justin and Jessica DuPree; Matthew, Abigail, and Andrew Oye; siblings, Theresa Gorman of Waukegan, IL, Jennie Adams of Zion, IL, Dolores Karner of New Berlin, WI, Rosie (Bill) Jones of Wildwood, IL, Eddie (Audrey) Perez of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Richard (Elizabeth) Perez of Beach Park, IL. Emily was preceded in death by her father and mother; daughter, Anna DuPree; siblings, Julia Prickett, Angelo Perez, Joe Perez, Helen Murillo, and Linda Garcia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Zion. Interment will be private for the family. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association.
