Obituary of Gloria Thiele Pushee

Gloria Thiele Pushee, age 94, of Kenosha, WI, formerly of Zion, IL., died April 14, 2017. She was born February 10, 1923 in Zion, IL. Gloria attended Lakeview Church and Christ Community Church in Zion, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, participated in Zion Passion Play and Vacation Bible School. In 1988, she retired from the Lake County Assessor’s Office. She was also employed as a secretary at OMC, Illinois Beach State Lodge, Zion City Hall, Warwick Electronics and Zion Draperies. Gloria was a member of Four Seasons Garden Club of Kenosha, enjoyed studying the Bible, creating watercolor art, needlework and making cards for shut-ins for her church. She was an avid gardener, loved cats and was a Cubs fan. Survivors include her children, Joan (Douglas) Stanich of Kenosha, WI, and Marianne (Joseph Eugene) Luker of Broken Arrow, OK; 5 grandchildren, Heidi (Tom) Schlitz, Michael (Deborah) Stanich, Todd (Jade) Stanich, Dawn Luker and Andrea Luker; 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Joyce Fischer and Justine Hallas both of Waukegan, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles; son, Paul Pushee; grandsons Mark Stanich and Chuck Pushee; and brothers-in-law, Percival “Budge” Fischer and Joseph Hallas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, IL, with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Camp Zion or Christ Community Church Missions.
