Obituary of Carol Mae Krerowicz

Carol Mae Krerowicz, 82, of Zion, IL, went to be with her Lord on May 18, 2017.

Carol was born June 28, 1934 in Kansas City, MO. She was raised by her grandmother Edna Spray in St. Joseph, MO and attended schools there.  She lived in Toledo, OH before moving to Zion, IL in 1960 and was married to Howard Krerowicz from February 2, 1952 until 1982.  She was a member of Community Christian Church in Waukegan, IL where she operated the church food pantry for many years and took part in many church plays.  She was the attendance secretary at both Pearce and Horizon Campuses of Zion-Benton Township High School, retiring in 1994.  Carol was the den mother of a Cub Scout Den that included her 2 sons in the early 1960s.  She enjoyed singing and dancing and had a passion for traveling.

She is survived by 4 children: John (Polly) Krerowicz of Kenosha, WI, Dennie Krerowicz of Zion, IL, Melissa (Dennis) Dunn of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Mike (Melinda) Krerowicz of Waxahachie, TX; 10 grandchildren: Aaron (Natalie) Krerowicz of Carmel, IN, Sam Krerowicz of Madison, WI, Dennie Krerowicz Jr of Gurnee, IL, Chris (Amanda) Krerowicz of Middleton, WI, Casey Krerowicz of Chicago, IL, Danielle (Nathan) Millikan of Athens, OH, Logan Dunn of Winthrop Harbor, Stephanie Krerowicz of Blue Springs, MO, Timothy Krerowicz of Overland Park, KS, and Cody Krerowicz of Kansas City, MO; 5 great-grandchildren: Shiloh Krerowicz of Darien, WI, Haley Krerowicz of Holmen, WI, Ava Krerowicz of Wauconda, IL, Zoey Krerowicz of Wauconda, Zachary Fryer of Blue Springs; and a sister, Dru Sears of Springfield, MO.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Howard, in 1984; twin grandsons Jeremy and Jeffrey Krerowicz in 1975; mother Marguerite Wright in 1955; and father William Wellbaum in 1985.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Community Christian Church, 1400 W. Yorkhouse Rd, Waukegan, IL 60087.  A funeral service will follow with Pastor Tim Knight, officiating.  Interment will be private for the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Community Christian Church would be appreciated.
